Ants don't get Sunday off (A See and read storybook)

Ants Don't Get Sunday Off - Penny Pollock Ugh. Anya the ant is tired and doesn't want to work anymore. Then the nest is flooded and she realizes that work will be the only way for anyone to survive. From that point on there is just suffering and agony, for Anya and the young reader. Anya encounters challenge after challenge, her outlook (as well as that of the young eggs she is carrying) looks bleak, too bleak for the 1st grader who might happen upon this book. With all the great reads out there, this depressing tale can be skipped.
