The Graveyard Book - Neil Gaiman Opens with hints of a horrific murder scene. Nothing overly graphic, but it is very clear that something terrible has happened. A small child toddles to the safety of a graveyard where he is protected by its inhabitants. A smooth read -- the words simply floated off the page (like fog in a graveyard?). Follows Nobody Owens as he grows, learns and becomes independent.
